The Union of Bioenergy Producers (UDOP) is an organization that publishes data on the monthly and annual history of rainfall indices (in millimeters). Members of the CoDAF project produced a representation of this data source and identified, through content analysis, the rainfall behavior in the Tupã-SP region.
The representation produced contains a visualization of the historical data series for the period from 1993 to 2018. This information can help farmers’ decision-making, since this factor (rain) can have advantages or disadvantages for the crop, directly influencing yield per hectare.
To give an example, peanut producers were affected by a larger volume of rain in February and March 2019, since the peanut crop needs to dry in the sun after being pulled from the soil, and, given this fact, the harvest stays exposed outdoors for longer, increasing the risk of permanent damage to the crop.
