Sítio Nossa Senhora Aparecida

All activity on the farm is carried out by the family itself, the producers Manoel Vieira de Freitas and Maria Rosa Silva de Freitas, and when necessary they have help from their son and daughter-in-law. The farm is in the city of Ribeirão Cascalheira in Mato Grosso.

The main activity on the property is dairy production; the producer has milk as his main source of income, keeping the females from the production for continuity of milk production and selling the males to pay expenses. He passes the milk production on to the municipality's dairy plant, where mozzarella cheese is made. They also make use of other benefits of the land to increase their income, such as raising chickens for consumption and sale, collecting eggs for consumption and sale, growing bananas for consumption and sale, growing cassava for consumption and sale, an orchard with some fruit for consumption (guava, cashew, banana, sugarcane) and raising pigs for consumption, where every part of the animal is used by the family: the meat is used for frying (carne de lata) and for making sausage, the animal's fat is used for cooking, and the leftovers with no use for consumption are made into soap, also for consumption.
