This past Saturday (January 18), the sanctioning of Law 21,156, of 2014, which institutes the state policy for sustainable rural development of family farming (Pedraf), was published in the Official Gazette of Minas Gerais, a policy that aims to strengthen family farming and ensure sustainable and solidary development.
The policy is founded on 21 principles, one of them being the adoption of sustainability, both socioeconomic and environmental, as a paradigm in reducing social and regional inequalities and in promoting viable agroecosystems.
