Free app helps rural producers see their situation under the Forest Code

Cell phone applications, known as apps, help rural producers with the most diverse activities in the field. The Simulador do Código Florestal (Forest Code Simulator) app is an app that helps producers check their situation under the Forest Code. It was developed by the Forest and Agricultural Management and Certification Institute (IMAFLORA) and the Institute of Forest Research and Studies (IPEF).

To use it, the producer enters information in the app's fields, such as location, total area of their property, date of deforestation, if there was any, and forested areas. This provides information on the status of the property: whether it has a surplus or a shortage of forest, whether in permanent preservation areas (APP) or legal reserve. The app also gives tips on regularizing the property, if necessary. With this information, the farmer can check whether and how much they need to plant to comply with the Forest Code.

Easy to use, the app is available for iOS and Android and must be connected to the internet for installation and use. The app provides information about the Forest Code, a guide to the new Forest Law and the classification of properties.

Information about installation is available at the Google Store.
