Embrapa researchers (Paraná) have developed a simple and environmentally friendly piece of equipment for producing edible soybean sprouts. Tecnobroto was launched on April 11 during the Londrina Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition (ExpoLondrina).
The technology used to build the equipment is being made available free of charge by Embrapa. The equipment uses simple, low-cost materials. The cost of making it is estimated at approximately three thousand reais.
To get to the edible sprout, the soybeans go through a few processes that can take from 3 to 5 days.
