Drone technology helps producers detect planting failures

The company XMobot, based in the interior of São Paulo, is the first Brazilian company in the field to receive authorization from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to manufacture drones, which are also useful in rural areas. These drones can fly over areas of 1,500 to 3,000 hectares with a flight time of up to 1 hour and 45 minutes.

With drone technology, rural producers can see exposed soil and planting failures, in order to deliver faster solutions to these producers and generate higher productivity. About 40 Brazilian producers have already adopted the drone and its technology with property-mapping software created by the company itself. The company is creating software specific to certain crops, to be attached to the drone.

Assistive technologies for rural production are expanding, since they allow faster and more effective support for crop treatments. Given the importance of these technologies in rural production, technologies adapted to and within reach of family farming are extremely relevant, since its production is responsible for more than 70% of the food on Brazilians' tables.
