Digital Agriculture is a topic that has been gaining ground in both scientific and professional circles. Although it is often associated with Precision Agriculture, its application is much broader, involving issues related to data collection and processing in order to help formulate new knowledge and technologies related to decision-making in agriculture. Adopting the new concepts brought by Digital Agriculture results in impacts on the means of production, such as the creation of new mechanisms and technologies to improve the final product.
Another factor that affects this new moment in agriculture is the adoption of Big Data. Although data is present far more than one imagines, the lack of adequate processing, the absence of connectivity, and farmers' lack of knowledge of and apprehension about these innovations are still challenges to be overcome.
It is hoped that the transformations stimulated by Digital Agriculture will be viewed favorably, so as to promote the improvement and development of new technologies in the countryside.
