Data Source Lists Cattle Herds in Brazil

Activities related to beef cattle farming, one of the most important in national agribusiness, according to data from the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (CEPEA, 2016), accounted in 2015 for 6.82% of Brazil's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

As a consequence of this scenario, Embrapa makes available data on the sector, which served as the basis for creating the Data Source "Dataset on Brazilian Cattle Herds," made available on the CoDAF Portal.

This data source presents charts that compare the figures across regions for the period from 2006 to 2015 and across the states of southeastern Brazil.

Understanding the need to provide ways of accessing these data, the CoDAF Portal offers small farmers data sources on topics that can help in the performance of their activities, available at: http://codaf.tupa.unesp.br/agricultura-familiar/fontes-de-dados.
