Brazil is a leader in sugarcane production and in the export of its derivatives, such as sugar and ethanol, generating thousands of jobs across the entire production chain and revenue for Brazilian agribusiness.
The Digital Skills for Family Farming (CoDAF) project presents on its portal a description of a data source on the historical series of sugarcane production made available by the National Supply Company (CONAB), which is linked to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply – MAPA,
One of CONAB's objectives is to collect data on historical price series. Based on this published data source, the authors Alana Beatriz Cardozo Dos Santos, Alanis Mayumi dos Santos, Ana Carolina Jesus Calixto, Julia, Maria Defavari Sarto, Natalia Cristina Rodrigues and Thais Martins Balbi present a description of this source and ways of visualizing the data through charts.
As an example, the historical series of productivity in kg/ha for the macroregions and for Brazil is presented through a line chart. For more information, see: Analysis of the Historical Series of Sugarcane.
CoDAF also presents descriptions of other data sources through the portal, available at: http://codaf.tupa.unesp.br/agricultura-familiar/fontes-de-dados
