9th CEDIT results released in an enhanced publication

The Data, Information and Technology Study Cycle (CEDIT) is organized by the Data Access Technologies Research Group (GPTAD) together with the Digital Skills for Family Farming Project (CoDAF). The event aims to provide debates and reflections based on seminars presented by professors and graduate students, addressing, in an interdisciplinary way, problems and themes related to the areas of Administration, Biosystems Engineering, Information Science, Agricultural Sciences, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), among others.

In its 9th edition, held on October 18, 2019, the event featured two lectures on the theme 'Technologies for obtaining image data'. The first, titled 'Formula Drone Competition – Aero IF Tupã', was given by Prof. Dr. Esdras Nicoletto da Cunha (IF/Tupã), and discussed the use of drones and their applications for cargo transport, healthcare and agriculture; and the second, titled 'Image processing techniques', was given by Prof. M.S. Eveline Batista Rodrigues (ETEC/Tupã), and dealt with the techniques and technologies involved in processing image data, placing the process in the context of the data life cycle.

In addition to the lectures, there was also a presentation of the results of a study published in a scientific journal, carried out by one of the GPTAD members. This study, titled 'Comparative study of government datasets from Brazil and Colombia, with agriculture and rural development data', was developed by M.S. Jacquelin T. Camperos Reyes, and offered a comparison between the characteristics observed in the datasets in the Brazilian and Colombian governments’ data-release services. At the end, a debate panel was formed to discuss convergences between the content of the presentations and to answer questions from the audience.

The 9th edition of CEDIT maintains the innovative structure proposed for disseminating the event’s results, published by making available content such as videos, slides and transcripts of the presentations, thus helping to broaden the possibilities of access to and use of the knowledge produced throughout the activities of the GPTAD research group.
