7th Data, Information and Technology Study Cycle (CEDIT) addresses Information Flows and Production Chains

The Data, Information and Technology Study Cycle (CEDIT) is organized by the Data Access Technology Research Group (GPTAD) together with the Digital Skills for Family Farming (CoDAF) Project. The event is held at the School of Sciences and Engineering (UNESP/Tupã), and aims to foster debates and reflections based on seminars presented by professors and graduate students, addressing, in an interdisciplinary way, problems and themes related to the fields of Administration, Biosystems Engineering, Information Science, Agriculture and Information Technology.

In its 7th edition, it featured two presentations addressing the theme "Information Flows and Production Chains".

The talk entitled "The importance of exchanging information and data among production chain actors for small producers" was given by Prof. Sérgio Braga Jr. (UNESP), and dealt with the production chain model with an emphasis on the production link, pointing out possibilities for the use of Information and Communication Technologies by small rural producers in their interaction with the other agents of the production chain.

The second presentation, entitled "Challenges, WND/Sigfox and Field Tracking Cases", was given by Eduardo Arcas - Solutions Sales Director at WND Sigfox - and addressed the connectivity challenges for integration among production chain agents from a market perspective, focused on the costs and returns associated with developing technologies and devices for field tracking activities.

At the end of the event, a closing panel was formed to discuss topics common to the two presentations and to answer questions from the participating audience.
