The Data, Information and Technology Study Cycle (CEDIT) is organized by the Data Access Technologies Research Group (GPTAD) together with the Digital Skills for Family Farming Project (CoDAF).
The event is held at the School of Sciences and Engineering (UNESP/Tupã) and aims to foster debate and reflection through seminars presented by professors and graduate students, addressing, in an interdisciplinary way, problems and themes related to the fields of Administration, Biosystems Engineering, Information Science, Agriculture and Information Technology.
In its 6th edition, it featured the following presentations:
"The use of data to map relationships in agriculture: an application of social network analysis (SNA), taught by Prof. Wilcer André Marcório, MSc (ETEC/Tupã), who showed the results of applying a method to study trust in the relationships among cocoa producers in a region of the state of Bahia, visually illustrating the frequency of these relationships in the form of networks built with the UCINET software and its NetDraw tool.
Prof. Dr. Fernando Mendonça Heck (IFSP/Tupã) gave the talk "Work and health in the meatpacking sector", in which he presented results obtained from data taken from the portal of the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), highlighting the main types of injury faced by workers involved in the operational practices of cutting chicken and pork, and stressed the importance of this information for formulating public policies in the sector.
The last seminar of this edition was given by Prof. Dr. Ana Elisa Bressan Smith Lourenzani, titled "The pingado dilemma", in which the researcher presented results of a published article dealing with quality issues in coffee and milk products, and linked the role of private and public regulatory and certification agencies to quality control of these products in Brazil.
All the presentations were recorded and are published on the CoDAF Project's YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF2jNgwEx1jJFvHOOXvGnqw), in order to increase the visibility and dissemination of the knowledge shared during the activities.
