1st Embrapa Hackathon – Campinas Notice makes registration available until October 28

Embrapa has opened registration for those interested in taking part in the 1st Embrapa Hackathon – Campinas Edition; registration can be made on the event's website until October 28, 2016.

Teams can be formed by groups of two to five members. To participate, at least two of the four members of the group must have completed or incomplete training in the Exact Sciences, in addition to having knowledge of computer programming; all must be at least 18 years old.

This marathon aims to put the potential of the technology participants to the test, seeking to develop proposals for mobile apps capable of capturing, processing and/or storing digital images; it will focus on supporting the automatic diagnosis of diseases in agricultural crops.

Embrapa faces a major challenge in solving the glare on the surface of leaves and the lack of focus in photographs; participants will have to find ways to solve it as best they can with this tool.

The event will take place on November 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Embrapa Agricultural Informatics.
