This source provides data on the operation of PRONAF collected through the Rural Credit Data Matrix made available on the official portal of the Central Bank of Brazil (BC), the institution responsible for regulating credit policies in the country. Visualizations were built from the analysis of the data obtained, in which it is possible to observe the scenario of PRONAF operation in relation to the main segments that receive funds and the respective contracted amounts.
What is PRONAF?
PRONAF aims to finance projects that generate income for family farmers and agrarian reform settlers, providing access to credit at interest rates lower than market rates, being the program with the largest volume of financial resources allocated by the Federal Government to Family Farming producers.

Information about the data
The data accessible through the Rural Credit Data Matrix can be viewed through queries that allow filters to be parameterized (monthly and annual range, activity, modality, funding source, program and subprogram), displaying the results on the page itself. It is possible to download the files containing the databases in “Comma Swift Style (CSV)”, “Portable Document Format (PDF)” and Microsoft Excel file (XLSX) formats.
In the data tables contained in the files, each row represents a specific record related to the segment in which the rural credit contract was applied (crop or equipment) and each column represents its respective attributes.
